10 Jul Benefits Of Cinnamon
Over 79 million people in the U.S. have pre-diabetes and I just inched my way towards being one of them! Actually, to be considered pre-diabetic you have to have a consistently high blood glucose level. Mine is high for the first time.
However, I intend to be very proactive about lowering my blood glucose!
I did a little research and found that one of the most potent natural remedies is cinnamon. In one study volunteers consumed one half to three teaspoons of cinnamon a day for 40 days. The result was blood sugar levels were reduced by24%!! It also significantly lowered LDL and triglyceride levels. HDL, or “good” cholesterol, was not affected by cinnamon in this study.
It is important to note that three teaspoons of cinnamon were no more effective than one teaspoon. This is another case of more is not better. As a matter of fact, too much cinnamon can be harmful! So stay below the three teaspoon mark.
My Tasty Turmeric Smoothie fits the bill perfectly. Give it a try!
